FAU spendet für Zapatistas in Mexiko

Die FAU hat durch ihren bundesweiten Kongress im Mai 2026 beschlossen, die zapatistische Bewegung in Mexiko mit 10.000€ aus ihren Mitgliedbeiträgen für den Aufbau eines Krankenhauses zu unterstützen. Die Region ist sehr schlecht mit Gesundheits-Infrastruktur versorgt, deswegen bauen die Zapatistas gemeinsam mit vielen anderen ein selbstorganisiertes Krankenhaus für alle auf. Seit 1994 organisieren die Zapatistas in Chiapas, Mexiko ein autonomes Leben nach antikapitalistischen, humanistischen Werten und sind damit Vorbild für Bewegungen auf der ganzen Welt. Wir sehen uns der zapatistischen Bewegung in ihrem Kampf und ihren Idealen eng verbunden. Gemeinsam kämpfen wir für die Lebensgrundlagen der Menschheit und gerechte Gesellschaften.

Liebe zapatistische Geschwister,

hier spricht die anarchosyndikalistische Gewerkschaftsföderation FAU aus Deutschland. Wir wissen nicht, ob ihr euch noch an uns erinnert, bei euren vielen Kontakten. Wir durften im letzten Jahr zum Encuentro “Algunas Partes del Todo” bei euch zu Gast sein und auch sonst haben sich unsere Wege schon ein paar mal gekreuzt.

Auf unserem Jahreskongress haben wir beschlossen, 10.000€ zu eurem Krankenhaus beizutragen und wir hoffen, das erleichtert euch den Alltag ein wenig. Dieses Geld ist kein Staatsgeld, wir haben es auch nicht im Lotto gewonnen, es ist von unseren Mitgliedsbeiträgen, die alle Arbeiter:innen jeden Monat von ihrem Lohn abgeben, um den Kampf für eine gerechtere Welt voran zu bringen.

Dieses Geld ist aber nur ein Ausdruck von etwas Tieferem: Wir sehen eure Bewegung, wir sehen sie seit vielen Jahren. Sie inspiriert uns in unserer Bewegung. Sie inspiriert uns Dinge zu verlernen, zu denen wir hier - im Herzen der Bestie - erzogen wurden. Und sie inspiriert uns - in einem Land, das nicht gerade für seinen Humor bekannt ist - bei unseren ernsten Tagesaufgaben mehr zu lachen, uns über das Lachen der Kinder zu freuen oder einem Schmetterling hinterher zu schmunzeln. Danke für dieses Geschenk, das viele von uns mindestens so gut am Laufen hält wie euer köstlicher Kaffee!

Wir wissen ja, ihr habt zu Hause immer mehr als genug zu tun, deswegen wollen wir eure Zeit nicht zu sehr mit diesem Brief in Anspruch nehmen. Wir möchten euch nur noch einmal darauf hinweisen, dass wir international mit ähnlichen Organisationen in der International Confederation of Labour (ICL) organisiert sind, deren Organisationen zumeist ähnlich warme Gefühle für euch hegen.

Wir sind mit der ICL in folgenden Ländern organisiert: United Kingdom (IWW), Frankreich (CNT), Deutschland (FAU), Polen (OZZ IP), Griechenland (ESE), Italien (USI), Spanien (CNT), Kanada und USA (IWW), Argentinien (FORA), Brasilien (FOB), Myanmar (FGWM) und Australien (IWW). Gute Freund:innen haben wir noch in einigen anderen Ländern.

Wir teilen eure Sorge um die Zukunft, auch wir sehen einen großen Sturm aufziehen, die vielleicht größte Herausforderung der Menschheit. Bis jetzt haben wir uns vor allem mit anderen Gewerkschaften organisiert, doch viele von uns denken, wir müssen den Blick weiten, Hände reichen. Wir schauen mehr auf indigene Bewegungen, wir schauen auf Zusammenschlüsse wie das Nyeleni-Forum. Doch es ist, wie ihr sagt: Die Hauptarbeit liegt immer vor der Haustür.

Wenn ihr Fragen an uns habt, wenn euch unsere internationalen Kontakte vielleicht etwas nützen, meldet euch immer gern. Wenn ihr uns auf eure internationalen Kontakte hinweisen wollt, ebenfalls immer gern. Als ICL treffen wir uns monatlich online um uns auszutauschen, in englisch oder spanisch. FAU donates to the Zapatistas in Mexico

The FAU decided at its federal congress in May 2026 to support the Zapatista movement with 10,000€ from its membership dues to help establish a hospital. The region has very poor healthcare infrastructure, which is why the Zapatistas, together with many others, are building a self-organized hospital for everyone. Since 1994, the Zapatistas in Chiapas, Mexico, have been organizing an autonomous way of life based on anti-capitalist, humanistic values, serving as a model for movements around the world. We feel closely connected to the Zapatista movement in its struggle and its ideals. Together, we fight for the livelihood of humanity and for just societies.

Greetings from the FAU in Germany

Dear Zapatista siblings,

this is the anarcho-syndicalist trade union federation FAU from Germany. We don’t know if you still remember us, among your many contacts. Last year, we had the privilege of being your guests at the Encuentro “Algunas Partes del Todo”, and our paths have crossed a few other times as well.

At our annual convention, we decided to contribute 10,000€ to your hospital, and we hope this will make your daily lives a little easier. This money does not come from the government, nor did we win it in the lottery, it comes from our membership dues, which all workers set aside from their wages every month to advance the struggle for a more just world.

But this money is only a reflection of something deeper: We see your movement, we have seen it for many years. It inspires us in our own movement. It inspires us to unlearn the things we were taught here - in the belly of the beast. And it inspires us - in a country not exactly known for its sense of humor - to laugh more as we go about serious daily tasks, take joy in the laughter of children, or to send a smile after a butterfly. Thank you for this gift, which keeps many of us going at least as well as your delicious coffee!

We know you always have more than enough to do back home, so we don’t want to take up more of your time with this letter. We just want to remind you once again that we’re organized internationally with similar organizations in the International Confederation of Labor (ICL), whose members mostly share similarly warm feelings toward you.

We are organized through the ICL in the following countries: the United Kingdom (IWW), France (CNT), Germany (FAU), Poland (OZZ IP), Greece (ESE), Italy (USI), Spain (CNT), Canada and the U.S. (IWW), Argentina (FORA), Brazil (FOB), Myanmar (FGWM), and Australia (IWW). We also have good friends in several other countries.

We share your concern for the future; we, too, see a great storm brewing, perhaps humanity’s greatest challenge. Until now, we have primarily organized with other unions, but many of us believe we need to broaden our perspective and reach out to others. We’re paying more attention to indigenous movements and to alliances like the Nyéléni Forum. But it is as you say: The main work is always right on our doorstep.

La FAU realiza una donación para el movimiento zapatista en México

En su congreso nacional celebrado en mayo de 2026, la FAU decidió apoyar al movimiento zapatista en México con 10 000 € procedentes de las cuotas de sus miembres para la construcción de un hospital. La región cuenta con muy poca infraestructura de salud, por lo que les zapatistas, junto con muchas otras personas, están construyendo un hospital autoorganizado para todes.

Desde 1994, les zapatistas de Chiapas, México, organizan una vida autónoma basada en valores anticapitalistas y humanistas, lo que les convierte en un ejemplo para movimientos de todo el mundo. Nos sentimos estrechamente vinculades al movimiento zapatista en su lucha y sus ideales. Juntes luchamos por los medios de vida de la humanidad y por sociedades justas.

Saludos desde la FAU en Alemania

Querides hermanes zapatistas,

Os habla la Federación Anarcosindicalista (FAU) de Alemania. No sabemos si aún se acuerdan de nosotres, entre tantos contactos que tienen. El año pasado tuvimos el honor de ser invitades al Encuentro «Algunas Partes del Todo» y, además, nuestros caminos ya se han cruzado en otras ocasiones.

En nuestro congreso anual decidimos aportar 10 000 € a su hospital y esperamos que eso les facilite un poco la vida cotidiana. Este dinero no proviene del Estado, ni lo ganamos en la lotería; proviene de las cuotas de nuestres miembres, que todes les trabajadores aportan cada mes de su salario para impulsar la lucha por un mundo más justo.

Sin embargo, este dinero es solo una manifestación de algo más profundo: Vemos su movimiento, lo hemos visto desde hace muchos años. Nos inspira en nuestro propio movimiento. Nos inspira a desaprender cosas que nos enseñaron aquí, en el corazón de la bestia. Y nos inspira - en un país que no se destaca precisamente por su sentido del humor - a reír más en nuestras serias tareas diarias, a alegrarnos con la risa de les niñes** o a enviar una sonrisa tras una mariposa**. ¡Gracias por este regalo, que a muches de nosotres nos mantiene en marcha al menos tan bien como su delicioso café!

Sabemos que en casa siempre tienen más que suficiente que hacer, por eso no queremos ocupar más su tiempo con esta carta. Solo queremos señalar que, a nivel internacional, estamos organizades junto con organizaciones similares en la Confederación Internacional del Trabajo (ICL), cuyas organizaciones, en su mayoría, sienten un afecto similar por ustedes.

Estamos organizades con la ICL en los siguientes países: Reino Unido (IWW), Francia (CNT), Alemania (FAU), Polonia (OZZ IP), Grecia (ESE), Italia (USI), España (CNT), Canadá y los Estados Unidos (IWW), Argentina (FORA), Brasil (FOB), Myanmar (FGWM) y Australia (IWW). También contamos con buenes amigues en algunos otros países.

Compartimos su preocupación por el futuro; nosotres también vemos que se avecina una gran tormenta, tal vez el mayor desafío de la humanidad. Hasta ahora nos hemos organizado principalmente con otros sindicatos, pero muches de nosotres creemos que debemos ampliar nuestra perspectiva y tender la mano. Nos fijamos más en los movimientos de communidades indígenas, nos fijamos en alianzas como el Foro Nyeleni. **Pero es así, como ustedes dicen: El **trabajo principal siempre está a la puerta de casa.
